Absarokee Sunset pedigree

Some Kinda Easy foaled in 1982, adding another generation to the Gene Miles Racing Hall of Fame legacy. The stallion, by Easy We Go and out of Kinda Nice We Go, not only raced well himself, but also passed that ability to his offspring. Gene, of Garden Plain, Kansas, bred Some Kinda Easy and sold him as a 2-year-old.

As a 3-year-old, Some Kinda Easy won the Golden Spike Derby, the Lawrence Maturity and one stake in the Nez Perce Crown. He followed that season by winning one jewel of the Nez Perce Crown in 1986 and coming in second for the other two legs. During his three years on the track, Some Kinda Easy led the pack for year-end running awards. He earned the 2-year-old sprint colt title in 1984, followed by the 3-year-old colt and 4-years-and-older colt titles in 1985 and 1986. The stallion finished his career with a 29-14-5-3 record and $47,452.09 in lifetime earnings.

Kent and Judy Taylor purchased Some Kinda Easy in 1993 and moved him to Idaho. Some Kinda Easy showed on the Appaloosa circuit once, winning his aged-stallion class at the Eastern Idaho State Fair in 1993.

Of Some Kinda Easy’s 178 registered foals, 98 have made race starts. His get includes 58 winners and 23 stakes winners. Collectively, his race starters have earned $336,658.36, 18 regional championships, 49 registers of merit, three championships and eight bronze medallions. His current highest money earner is the 2000 mare Lookin Good Carlene out of Moonin Margie. In the show pen, Some Kinda Easy’s foals have performed as open, non-pro and youth mounts, excelling in games events.

“He put a little speed on every foal he had,” Kent says about the stallion.

Some Kinda Easy was euthanized on April 27, 1999, after sustaining a breeding-related injury.
